WHY GO TO CHURCH?

A church goer wrote to the Editor of a big newspaper and said “that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday as I have gone to church for 36 years and listened to more than three thousand sermons in that time but now for the life of me, I cannot remember one of them.  I think I am wasting my time and the Minister’s time as well, as no one remembers them.”

This started a rush of letters to the paper that went on for weeks until a man wrote this letter to the paper:  “I have been married for 30 years and in that time my wife has cooked more than 32,000 meals, but for the life of me, I cannot remember them all.  But this I know, they all nourished me and gave me the strength to work.  I know that if my wife had not fed me, I would be dead by now.  This is the same as if I did not go to church, I would be spiritually dead.  Remember that when you are down to nothing, God is up to something.  Remember, faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and rescues the impossible.  Thank God for our physical and spiritual needs.  Remember that when Satan knocks on your door, ask “Jesus, can you please get that for me?”
